APP Support Medical Assistant ~ Oklahoma Heart Institute

Oklahoma Heart Institute is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Electrophysiology Manager and will be responsible for transporting, rooming and preparing patients for physician, advanced practice provider, and nurse clinic visits. The Medical Assistant will serve as the first clinical contact for incoming clinic patients and must represent OHI in regards to Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy review, inquire of past medical and family history, and document this information in the electronic medical record (EPIC).

  • Participate in the completion of provider orders by accurately performing venipuncture and EKGs, appropriately applying ambulatory cardiac monitoring, correctly selecting and documenting medication samples, and patient education as directed by nurse or provider.

  • Complete refill authorization requests daily.

  • Assist with chart prep and call backs for APPs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or ABR credentials
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 1 – 3 years medical assistant experience preferred

SKILLS

Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge.
