Financial Counselor Navigator ~ Utica Park Clinic

The UPC Quality Improvement Department is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Financial Counselor Navigator will be responsible for assisting our Medicare aged patients understand the options available for health care coverage based on their financial situations. This person will discuss alternative arrangements for the Medicare patients based on medical and financial situation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Want to make a difference? The ideal team member will:

  • Utilize the data from the monthly aging-in letter database to follow-up with patients and offer our services

  • Make follow-up calls to patients and schedule any appointments to review plan options

  • Review Medicare Collections bills sent out to patients and make follow-up calls

  • Review the patients benefits and provide the patient with expectations of healthcare plan such as copay, coinsurance and deductible(s)

  • Serve as a direct contact for the patient to review Medicare plan options

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Want to be a part of our team? Qualifications for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-5 years experience with Medicare population and Medicare coverage plans

SKILLS

Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge, and a basic understanding of medical terminology. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
